Resolution of contractions is a tool that allows one quickly find solutions to problems with contradictory conditions. This tool is a part of the TRIZ methodology.

The TRIZ methodology (The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) allows to find new solutions to problems that require an innovative, inventive approach. This theory was developed by the Soviet scientist Heinrich Altshuller.
