Report

A Lean Coffee is a structured but agendaless meeting format driven by the interests of the participants.

Great for brainstorming, community meetups, retrospectives, sprint reviews, and more.

  1. Invite participants to write down topics they want to talk about on sticky notes & place them in the 'To Discuss' column.

  2. Have everyone vote on the topics they are most interested in discussing.

  3. Move the most voted topic to the 'Discussing' column, explaining that conversations will be timeboxed.

  4. Use a timer to limit the discussion time (usually 5 to 10 minutes).

  5. When the time is up, ask participants if they want to continue or move on to the next topic.

  6. (If continuing... get straight into it, but half the timebox).

  7. Repeat until all topics are covered or the meeting time is over.
