Designers don’t know all the answers and are just as open to bias as anyone. Constantly sharing ideas and poking holes in assumptions asks designers to more fully explore their thinking.

Design reviews are an excellent practice for product design teams. They are used to get constructive feedback on work, and invite a broader range of perspectives beyond a single discipline.
