Action Plan Template
Works best for:
Education, Project Management, Project Planning, Kanban
Why create an action plan? Long-term business strategies and goals are only good if you can make them a reality—by accomplishing every small task along the way. An action plan lists those tasks and lays them out in clear detail. It helps you keep everything in order, make sure nothing is missed, and get stakeholders on the same page to complete a project quickly and effectively. This template will help you write an action plan that’s SMART: Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time-bound.
Lesson Reflection Template
Works best for:
Education, Meetings
The Lesson Reflection template is a tool to create space for self-reflection and improvement. Students can evaluate the key takeaways from a lesson and what are the topics they find most interesting. As teachers receive the student’s Lesson Reflection, they can look for opportunities to improve learning and teaching methodologies. The Lesson Reflection template can help you facilitate the educational process, and it’s easy to use and straightforward.
Event Planning Template
Works best for:
Planning, Workshops
Whether you’re planning a product launch, fully remote conference, or milestone event, the Event Planning Template will act as a visual checklist and map for all the details you need to consider before the big day. The Event Planning Template is an adaptable way to make sure the creative and strategic vision of your event doesn’t get lost in the details. By mapping out different sections - from the marketing plan, to the agenda, to snacks and swag for guests — you and your team can focus on the details most important to your functions, and collaborate as needed when overlaps occur.
Weekly Planner Template
Works best for:
Business Management, Project Planning
A weekly planner is a schedule that outlines your plans and activities for the week ahead. It helps you manage your time, keep track of your tasks, and organize your team on a day-to-day basis. Unlike traditional planners, which are often non-customizable, this weekly planner can be modified to suit your specific needs.
Corrective Action Plan Template
Works best for:
Project Management, Operations, Strategic Planning
For a manager or HR leader, it’s the least fun part of the job: Documenting an employee’s performance issues and talking about them directly to that employee. A corrective action plan makes that tough task a little easier by putting issues into a professional, written framework. That way the process, next steps, and details of the conversations are all clearly documented. This template will enable you to eliminate murky communication, align on expectations, and provide step-by-step instructions for your employee.
Communications Plan Template
Works best for:
Marketing, Project Management, Project Planning
You saw the opportunity. You developed the product. Now comes an important step: Find your audience and speak to them in a way that’s clear, memorable, and inspiring. You need a communications plan—a strategy for controlling your narrative at every stage of your business—and this template will help you create a good one. No need to build a new strategy every time you have something to communicate. Here, you can simplify the process, streamline your messaging, and empower you to communicate in ways that grow with your business.
Action Priority Matrix Template
Works best for:
Mapping
You and your teammates probably have more ideas than resources, which can make it difficult to prioritize tasks. Use an Action Priority Matrix to help choose the order in which you will work on your tasks, allowing you to save time and money and avoid getting bogged down in unnecessary work. An Action Priority Matrix is a simple diagram that allows you to score tasks based on their impact and the effort needed to complete them. You use your scores to plot each task in one of four quadrants: quick wins, major projects, fill-ins, and thankless tasks.
Strategic Action Framework
Works best for:
Roadmap, Planning, Mapping
The Strategic Action Framework template provides a structured approach for developing and implementing strategic initiatives. By defining goals, strategies, and action plans, teams can align their efforts with organizational objectives and drive progress towards desired outcomes. This template fosters collaboration and accountability, ensuring that strategic initiatives are executed effectively and deliver measurable results.
Good, Bad, Ideas, Action, Kudos Retrospective
Works best for:
Retrospectives, Meetings, Agile Methodology
The Good, Bad, Ideas, Action, Kudos Retrospective template offers a structured approach to retrospectives by categorizing feedback into five key areas: good, bad, ideas, action items, and kudos (appreciations). It provides elements for team members to share their thoughts, suggestions, and acknowledgments. This template enables teams to reflect on past performance, generate actionable insights, and celebrate achievements. By promoting inclusivity and constructive feedback, the Good, Bad, Ideas, Action, Kudos Retrospective empowers teams to foster collaboration, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen team dynamics effectively.

What is an action plan template?
An action plan format or action planning template contains a list – or series of lists – that details everything you must accomplish to complete a task. Action plans help with project management by ensuring you focus on small tasks and decisions that are oriented toward accomplishing your bigger goals. They can also promote confidence in your ability to be successful and make things happen.
Why should you use an action plan template?
It’s common for organizations to formulate long-term strategies to achieve certain goals, whether for the overall business or for a specific team. But thinking of a goal or strategy and actually implementing it are two different things. Using an action planning template makes these goals a reality and is very useful when running a strategic planning meeting.
Many people and organizations use action plan examples as templates to effectively and efficiently complete their projects. They help keep everything in order and ensure that nothing is missed. Because every task is laid out clearly, stakeholders can get on the same page about what they need to do and when it needs to get done.
Here are some of the benefits of using an action plan template:
Clarity and direction: The template provides a roadmap for teams to follow, ensuring that everyone understands the plan and their role in it.
Efficient monitoring: With tasks separated into different stages, it's easy to track progress and identify any bottlenecks.
Enhanced collaboration: The visual format encourages team members to collaborate, discuss, and brainstorm in real time.
Flexibility: Our action plan examples are easily customizable, allowing adjustments as project needs change.
Boosted productivity: By visualizing tasks and progress, teams can focus on what needs to be done and reduce the time spent deciding the next steps.
How to use the action plan template
Here’s how you can use the template in Miro:
The action plan template is made with the Kanban app. With just a few clicks, customize your Kanban board, adding tasks related to your project.
To move tasks around, drag and drop them between the "To Do", "In Progress", and "Done" sections as they progress.
To provide more context or clarity for a task, add any artifact to the board, be it an image, document, or link.
Collaborate with team members by inviting them to view or edit the board. Everyone can contribute in real time.
Remember, the purpose of your project action plan template is to achieve a goal or implement a strategy, so every part of the plan should be geared towards that. Don’t just mindlessly churn out tasks; complete tasks in a way that will make later tasks easier and geared towards what you’re trying to accomplish.
To complement your action plan, you can also use the Corrective Action Plan Template, where you can map out risks and behaviors and make better-informed decisions.
