Total Domination: Battle Cards

Report

Total Domination: Battle Cards is a sleek tool that serves more than one team, as it:

  • Aids Sales teams to win over potential clients

  • Supports Product managers in product communication around the WHY of roadmap decisions.

  • Provides Marketing teams with information to establish the marketing strategy.

Talk about multipurpose, right?

When to use Total Domination: Battle cards?

Rage against the machine said, “Know your enemy, Yeah, Ayo, get with this, ugh”.

Total Domination: Battle Cards, works best as a tool used by either Sales, Marketing or Product Management, but preferably by all jointly.

It allows you to better understand key competitors and how your product stacks up to theirs.

How does Total Domination: Battle cards work?

Creating a battle card and keeping its content relevant and update date revolves around four steps:

  1. Select the competitor. Use your competitive analysis. When not available, the creation is preferably a joint effort between, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, and Product Management. No capacity available? Have a look at G2, Capterra or Gartner to find out whom they see as your competitor.

  2. Conduct research. Assess how you stack up to the competitor. Look at pricing, key strengths, and identify categories and criteria to compare.

  3. Select criteria. Select the most suitable criteria and fill out the battle card template.

  4. Update periodically. The competitive landscape is constantly evolving. Periodically update the Battle card.

When executed well, like Rage against the machine, you will be able to say “Yes, I know my enemies”.
