Inspire Study Skills Template: Reflect on your study
This Miro board template is designed to help YOU unlock how you learn best! By exploring your strengths and weaknesses, setting goals, reflecting on your learning journey, and journaling your experiences, you'll gain valuable metacognition skills – the ability to think about your own thinking.
This template is perfect for:
School students: If you're curious about how you learn best and want to take control of your learning process.
Teachers: If you want to introduce metacognition to your classroom and encourage self-reflection in your students.
Board Breakdown:
The board is divided into four key sections, each designed to guide you on your self-discovery journey:
Strengths & Weaknesses Grid: This section helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses across three learning pillars:
Methodology: How do you approach learning tasks? Do you prefer visual aids? Are you strong at organization? Use sticky notes to list your preferred learning methods (e.g., flashcards, group work, lectures).
Management of Self: This focuses on time management, organization, and study habits. Use emojis to rate your strengths in areas like planning, focus, and managing distractions.
Motivation: What keeps you engaged with learning? Use text boxes to list things that motivate you (e.g., good grades, personal growth, teacher praise).
Be honest with yourself! Consider seeking feedback from teachers or peers to get a well-rounded picture.
SMART Goal Creation: This section helps you set Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound learning goals.
A pre-populated table with these categories is provided. Use sticky notes to brainstorm goals related to your identified strengths and weaknesses. For example, if time management is a struggle, create a goal to create a weekly study schedule.
Make sure your goals are challenging yet achievable! Break down larger goals into smaller steps for easier progress.
Metaphorical Exploration: This section uses a sailboat metaphor to help you visualize the factors that affect your learning journey.
Use sticky notes to list:
Wind in the Sails (Strengths & Support): These are the learning strategies, resources, and people who have helped you succeed.
Anchors (Weaknesses & Challenges): These are the obstacles that have held you back, such as procrastination, lack of focus, or difficulty with specific subjects.
Be honest! Recognizing both positive and negative influences is crucial for improvement. Discussing how to overcome "anchors" can be a valuable learning experience.
Reflective Journaling: This section allows you to reflect on your learning experiences and asks you 2 questions about what you’d like to change in your study practice, and what it would mean to you if you focused on your study skills more from this point onwards.
This Miro board template is just a starting point! Feel free to customize it to fit your needs and embark on your exciting journey of learning how YOU learn!
