Harry Potter and the Sprint Retrospective
Welcome to the Wizarding World of Agile! Embark on a magical journey through the realm of Agile, where the principles of Scrum merge with the enchanting world of Harry Potter. Just like Harry and his friends faced challenges, learned from their experiences, and grew stronger together, so too have we traversed our own adventures in the land of software development. 🧙♂️💻
What:
A twist of a traditional retrospective template with a Harry Potter theme.
Who:
This template is perfect for any agile team, especially those looking to reinvigorate their retro because they have become less useful.
When:
This is to be used to facilitate a team's retrospective each sprint.
How:
Create a new board with the template.
As the facilitator, familiarize yourself with the example board. You can leave this as an example for the team or remove it ahead of time.
Start with sorting each of the team members into one of the four houses. They can either sort themselves or have everyone sort each other for even more fun! Take some time to see if each person agrees with their house.
Next, encourage the team to add shoutouts to recognize each other by adding names to the award plaque.
During the main retrospective, direct the team to focus on the four circle prompts one by one. Start with the first circle and allow the team to add sticky notes to add feedback within a set amount of time.
Once the time is up, talk about the feedback and move to the next prompt.
