The Design Thinking with AI board stems from the need and idea to experiment with how Generative AI tools (such as LLMs) can be used as "teammates" within a design process structured according to the phases of Design Thinking.

Prompts have been identified that can be useful in the various stages of the process and, most importantly, a methodology is proposed that alternates moments of "dialogue" with AI and with the group. The intention is to create a collaborative mode between humans and AI that maximizes the potential of both. In creative processes, AI should not be considered an "oracle" that provides the right answer but rather a teammate capable of providing insights, inspiration, or critiques.

The prompts and methodologies used should be considered as a starting point, a tool for learning a new way of working that can be customized according to your needs.

I am a UX manager with a PhD in Computer Science, an expert and enthusiast in Human-Centered Design, particularly focused on the relationship between humans and new technological paradigms (e.g., AI and IoT). In 2023, together with two co-authors, I published the IoT Design Deck, a co-design method for designing UX for connected products and services. Currently, my interests are centered on how to get the best out of AI through Design Thinking.
