What is a 'how might we' question, and what's it for?

Constructing how-might-we questions is a platform to generating lots of creative solutions (ideation), whilst keeping us focused on the right problems to solve.

A bad example

How might we..: "Tell people which form to file when completing their taxes"

It makes the potential solution quite obvious. It doesn't give us space to explore possibilities.

A great example

How might we..: "Make people feel confident they are filling in their taxes correctly"

This carefully framed question opens up a world of possibilities and gives us the best possible platform to ideate.
