Argument Mapping
—
—
This template will help you create argument maps that clarify thinking, help teams align around contentious issues, and identify experiments and work to be done to remove assumptions and resolve hypotheses.
This can help you clarify an argument for yourself alone ('why I deserve a pay rise') or act as a collaboration tool to resolve conflict. This is an ideal tool for teams doing product discovery.
Argument maps can be used to easily explain to people not involved in the process the reasoning behind why a given statement is seen as true or untrue.
The template includes instructions and links to more in-depth explanations of argument mapping. The argument map components included in this template can be copied and joined together to construct your own argument maps.
Credit to Austhink and ReasoningLab for their promotion of argument mapping in Australian universities and organizations.
