Agile Coach Impact Tree

Based on endless discussions I had about what is the difference between Scrum Master and Agile Coach I have decided to share my experience and approach in day to day life.

I have created a simple growth navigator which is called “Agile Coach Impact Tree”. It blends approaches from “Coaching Agile Teams” by @Lyssa Adkins, “Extraordinarily Badass Agile Coaching” @Robert Galen, and “Rethinking Agile” @Klaus Leopold. There are three levels (Klaus “Flight Levels”) of organization where SM/AC can bring impact. Based on those levels one grows in several dimensions which are competence areas of Agile Coaching. Levels are represented by how high you climb on the tree and competencies how many branches and leaves you covered.

There are three main levels:

• Team/Squad Local Impact

• Area/Domain/Tribe/Department Impact

• Organizational Impact

There are five main branches which consist of 10+ specific competencies
